Supreme Court Opens for Business
History has been made when, for the first time in the highest court in the land, television cameras were there to record the work of the UK’s Supreme Court, which opened for business on 5th October when the Government faced a challenge under the Human Rights Act over powers to confiscate money from alleged terrorists.
The Court replaces the Appellate Committee of the House of Lords as the highest court in the United Kingdom and the final criminal court of appeal in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. read full article
