ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Important Information for Disabled Visitors to Prisons from the Scottish Prison Service

Under the new Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 we have a duty to ensure we can evacuate disabled persons from any part of our Estate we give them access to. We achieve this by creating a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP). If you have particular requirements please contact us with the following information:

Which establishment you are visiting, the date and time; and details of your requirements.

Every Scottish establishment now has an FCDO (Family Contact Development Officer), who will be able to assist with any enquiries visitors may have. At Castle Huntly, the FCDO is First Line Manager G. Tait. If he is not on duty, visitors should feel free to talk to any member of staff.

For information on prison visits, transport to prison, welfare benefits, prison regime, Family Support Groups or how to get help locally, contact the Prisoners' Families Information Line on 0500 83 93 83
