Booking on-line
You can now book visits to this prison on-line without a Visiting Order (VO).
You will need the prisoner’s full name, date of birth, prison number and prison.
Provide three alternative visit slots and you will get a confirmation email within three days.
It is still be possible to book visits by phoning the booking line but the new system should do much to overcome the frustration and waiting on the phone for hours that is currently experienced although if you are looking to book at short notice it may still be better to telephone where possible.

There is a Visitors' Centre serving House Blocks 1-6 with a small children's play area in the visits room. There is no visitor's centre for house block 8.

You must include; date, time, duration of visit, prisoners full name, number or date of birth, and name of all visitors.


If any changes need to be made this should be done by fax or email.

Allow 24hours for return confirmation.

If you wish to take in any equipment with you, you should state the reasons why, and allow for confirmation from the governor.

All visitors are required to provide TWO forms of identification from the following list. Failure to provide correct ID will result in entry to the prison being denied:

Two of either: Valid Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate, Senior Citizen’s Public Transport Pass with photograph, Transport Season Ticket with photograph, Rail Card or Bus Pass with photograph, Student or Union Card with photograph, Credit card, Rent book

or TWO household bills. (TWO household bills counts as ONE form of ID).



Community Transport Service

A Community Transport Service operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday picking up from Birmingham New Street railway station, Coventry railway station and Redditch railway station and then onto the prison.
Bookings for the service must be made in advance on 0800 316 9048 and service users must register using the above free phone number before travel.

Return fares are applicable and can be paid to the driver on the day of travel.

For further details regarding the service please call 0800 316 9048.

The nearest rail stations are Bromsgrove and Redditch, both about 5 miles from the prison. There are buses or take a taxi.

Facilities at Bromsgrove Station: Pay phone only. the station is partially step free with level access to platform 1 (trains to Birmingham) but 22 steps to platform 2.

Facilities at Redditch Station: Pay phoneonly. Level access through Booking Hall onto platform. Alternative step-free route via side gate. Heavy hinged doors to Booking Hall.

From either Bromsgrove and Redditch stations take the bus route 143 to the Tardebigge public house, there is then about a mile walk to each house block.
