Booking on-line
You can now book visits to this prison on-line without a Visiting Order (VO).
You will need the prisoner’s full name, date of birth, prison number and prison.
Provide three alternative visit slots and you will get a confirmation email within three days.
It is still be possible to book visits by phoning the booking line but the new system should do much to overcome the frustration and waiting on the phone for hours that is currently experienced although if you are looking to book at short notice it may still be better to telephone where possible.

Domestic visitors should report to the Visitors' Centre on Tower Street to book in for their visit. Children's play area and tea bar operate in the visits room staffed by volunteers.

Leicester train station is the nearest station and is a short walk from the prison. It is on the Midland Mainline. In case of difficulty getting instructions to the prison, ask for directions to Leicester Royal Infirmary (Hospital) - we are a short distance from the hospital.

Facilities at Leicester Station: Waiting room, refreshments, toilets, baby changing facilities, pay phone and ATM.  The station is step free and there is access to all platforms via main entrance and lifts.

The main bus station (St. Margaret's) is situated to the north of the city centre. The prison is approximately 1 mile south of the bus station.
