The Visitors' Centre is open from 12:15, it is staffed by the Prison Service and is situated adjacent to the visitors' car park.

Convicted Basic

PVOs are not valid for weekend visits

The first and third Fridays of every month are family visiting. Only prisoners with children are eligible to apply.

Any prisoner subject to PSO 4400 Chapter 1 can only apply for visits from his own children and/or siblings (under the age of 18). Approval of such visits will be subject to multi-agency risk assessments.

We understand that outer coats are allowed to be worn between Visitors' Centre and Visit Room (subject to x-ray). There is a coat rack near the tea bar where they can be hung if taken off for visit.


We understand that if you buy crisps in the Visit Room these are now poured into a bowl and not given to you in the bag.

Travel Information

March Railway Station is approximately 1½ miles from Whitemoor. The nearest mainline station is Peterborough, with frequent connections to March. You can complete your journey by taxi.

Facilities at Peterborough Station: Waiting room, refreshments, toilets, baby changing facilities, pay phone and ATM. The station is step free - Steps to platforms 3, 4 & 5 or a ramp bridge at the North end of station. An electric mobility assistance buggy for passengers who would like assistance to platforms 3, 4 & 5 is available between 0600-2200. Ticket Office and Car Park are step free.

Facilities at March Station: Waiting room, toilets and pay phone. The whole station is step free.
